Corpus Christi Primary School is situated in Melbourne’s western suburbs. Allocated funding under the umbrella of the BER project, the school decided to extend and refurbish its original church hall which was built in the early 1900s. An important part of the brief was that the renovation works should complement, and not detract from, the period features of the structure.
The resulting new cantilevered entrance foyer is now an architectural highlight of the building with its stunning upward sloping skillion roof.
The school community and, indeed, the whole parish is delighted with the new multi-purpose hall which includes a purpose-built kitchen that comes in handy when the space is hired out.
