One of our more recent projects, this attractive semi-commercial development was completed in 2014. We worked closely with our Office of Housing representatives Ashraf Rahman and Paul Filiardos to deliver five one-bedroom units set on landscaped grounds for the Department of Human Services. The million-dollar project was designed by architectural firm De Jong Architects to cater for people who may be living with a disability. The Project Architect was Anna Morawiec. Set on beautifully landscaped grounds in leafy Eltham, this seven-bedroom community residential unit was designed by architect Lawrie Grant of HBO + EMTB. It features easy access for wheel chairs inside and out, disability facilities in the bathrooms and communal kitchen, a freestanding double garage and fire sprinkler services throughout. The wraparound veranda provides a relaxed space where residents can socialise outdoors. The Office of Housing’s Project Architect for this job was architect Zbigniew Jarworski. “I have worked with AA Turner Builders on several Department of Human projects and have always been impressed with Alan’s thoroughness during the planning stages and meticulous attention to detail once the actual construction began.

This light and airy six-bedroom community residential unit was completed for the Office of Housing in 2011. It was designed by Monica Kaleo of Kaleo Architects and the build was project managed by architect Zbigniew Jarworski. It features easy access for wheel chairs, disability facilities in the bathrooms and communal kitchen and a huge living room area overlooking the rear garden. This development is fortunate in that it’s built on extensive grounds, so we were able to incorporate extras such as raised vegetable garden beds and in-ground trampolines into the landscaping. Built according to strict six-star energy ratings, solar panels on the roof were also installed to reduce energy consumption.
